**彼岸花，最初无名，据说是位自愿投入冥府的妖精转世而来。冥王不愿让她进入冥府，将她拒在地狱门外，她只好开在冥河两岸。因为香气能够呼唤前世的记忆，所以又叫‘接引之花’。这花有种特性，花开叶落，叶生花败，花叶永不相见，生生相错。春秋两季为花期，花大多是红色，也有少数的白色，盛开的时候连天连地，如同铺火，所以冥河的黄泉路也叫火照之路。后来这种花被人称之为彼岸，亦叫曼珠沙华。
